Adhi Kesava Perumal Temple, Koovathur, Chengalpattu
Aadhi Kesava Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Koovathur Village in Cheyyur Taluk in Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding deity is called as Aadhi Kesava Perumal and Mother is called as Maragathavalli. The temple is known for its eight wells representing the eight sacred rivers of India namely Ganga, Yamuna, Sarasvati, Sarayu, Godavari, Narmada, Tungabhadra, and Kaveri. This temple is situated on the southern bank of Palar River.

History
This temple was constructed by Sadashivayyadeva Maharaya, son of Saluva Manga Udayar Devamaharaya of Vijayanagara Dynasty as per the inscription in the nearby Angalamman Temple.

Festivals
Margazhi Vaikunda Ekadasi (Dec-Jan)
is the most famous festival celebrated here.
Prayers
This temple is considered as Pithru Dosha Parihara
Sthalam. Those suffering from Budha Doshas in their horoscopes worship here to get
relief from their doshas. It is said that the devotees take bath in all the
theerthams of this temple and worship Lord Adhi Kesava Perumal for relief from
all their sins during the Vishnupathi Punyakala (from 2.30 am to 10.30 am) during
the first day of Tamil months of Vaikasi (May-Jun), Aavani (Aug-Sep), Karthigai
(Nov-Dec) and Masi (Feb-Mar).
