Veeranarayana Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Kuruvalapparkoil near Gangaikonda Cholapuram in Udayarpalayam Taluk in Ariyalur District of Tamil Nadu. The Temple is also called as Kurugai Kavalappar Temple or Guruvalapparkoil. It is an ancient temple named after Kurugai Kaavalappan, one of the disciples of Natha Muni. The significance of the temple relates to a historic ‘non-event’ that turned out to be a big loss for the Vaishnavites. This temple is not known to many outside the district.

Alavanthar is believed to have built the sanctum while the architecture in its current form with huge outer and inner walls - is a mix of granite and brick construction dating back to the 11th century AD and the Chola period.

The Temple remains open from 07.00 AM to 11.00 AM and 05.00 PM to 07.30 PM.
Festivals
The five-day Brahmotsavam that was once celebrated in a grand manner at this temple is being revived. Garuda Sevai of Veera Narayana Perumal will form part of the Brahmotsavam. The third day Pavithrotsavam to take place in the month of Aippasi, is also being revived. Float festival, Maasi Magam, Vijayadashami, Vaikunda Ekadasi and Puratasi Saturdays are celebrated at the temple.

The Temple is located at about 2 Kms from Gangaikonda Cholapuram, 9 Kms from Jayamkondam, 17 Kms from Udayarpalayam, 19 Kms from Kattumannarkoil, 25 Kms from Andimadam, 31 Kms from Srimushnam, 33 Kms from Sendurai, 36 Kms from Kumbakonam, 37 Kms from Kumbakonam Railway Station, 45 Kms from Virudhachalam, 45 Kms from Chidambaram, 45 Kms from Ariyalur and 138 Kms from Trichy Airport.
The Temple is situated at about 2 Kms to west of Gangaikonda Cholapuram. Buses ply every 10 minutes from Kumbakonam and Jayamkondam.  Autos are available to reach this Temple from Gangai Konda Chola Puram Cross Road (Kumbakonam – Chennai NH). By train, one can get down at Kumbakonam and take a bus to reach Gangai Konda Chola Puram. Also, one can get down at Virudhachalam Station and reach the temple via Jayamkondam.
