Adhinathar Jain Temple, Peranamallur, Thiruvannamalai
Adhinathar
Jain Temple is dedicated to Jain Thirthankar Adhinathar located at Peranamallur
village in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. The Temple is located at
about 23 Kms from Vandavasi on the Arni road. The structure of the temple belongs
to 18th century. The Jinalaya has east facing entry, an altar,
and a Manasthampam of 30 feet height, made of cement mortar with Thirthankars
engraved on four sides.
The
corridor is surrounded by a compound wall. Shri Padmavathy shrine is
located on the Northwestern Side of the corridor. Navagraha idols are installed
upon a platform on the Northeastern Side of the corridor. Inside the sanctum,
Shri Adhinathar granite idol was established on a vedi-platform. It comprises
off eight features of Samavasaran Jinar.
In
Antharalayam, metal idols of Thirthankars for worship, 24 Thirthankars
clusters, Navadevatha, Panchaparameshti, Nantheeswara Deepam, Mahameru,
Yakshas, Yakshis are arranged on a tiered platform. The Arthamandapam consists
of Shri Brahmadevar on the south and Shri Kooshmandini on the north, on the
center platform regular pooja idols was seated.
In front
of Arthamandapam, a Mahamandapam is located and has two openings on south and
north of corridor. A small Mugamandapam is also constructed and guarded by iron
grill doors. Daily pooja, special pooja, Nantheeswara pooja, Mukkudai and
Akshaya thirithiyai festival are conducted regularly like other Jinalayas.
The Temple
is located at about 23 Kms from Vandavasi on the Arni road. The Temple is
located at about 23 Kms from Arani and 56 Kms from Kanchipuram. Nearest Railway
Station is located at Arani and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
