Adhinathar Jain Temple, Sevoor, Thiruvannamalai
Adhinathar Jain Temple is located in Sevoor, an extension area of new Arani town. This beautiful Jinalaya was built in early of 20th Century AD. But an old Jinalaya was there before Arani Jahir extant was gifted (Jahir was gifted by Shahjee, father of Shivaji, Maratha king, in the Year 1640 AD). The Government record of Arni Jahir indicates that there was an old Jain temple present in the area. Also a small Moolavar statue with 8 inches high of Shri Adhinathar belongs to that period is in the present temple.





The Temple
The Jinalaya has Garbhagriha, Arthamandapam, Mahamandapam, Muga Mandapam chambers like old Dravidian temple design. The Temple has an East facing entrance and was surrounded by walls on all sides. An altar and newly installed Manasthampam are in the open corridor. A newly constructed shrine room and a Navagraha shrine also at the end of the corridor.





The Garbhagriha contains Shri Adinathar white marble statue of more than 3 feet high and it was placed on a beautiful plinth. The chamber was bifurcated and secured by glass doors. Next to the Idainazhi portion, a platform contains daily pooja statues. The pavilion of Arthamandapam has two platforms on either side of aisle.





On southern side Thirthankars metal statues and two moolavars of predecessor are placed. On the northern part Yaksha, Yakshis of alloy metal, Shri Brahmadevar stone idol upon an Elephant and Shri Kooshmandini stone statue are seated properly. The whole pavilion was secured well by doors and two windows.





The Mahamandapam consists of two Dwalabalagars (made of cement) in standing posture are placed on two platforms individually. The pavilion also safeguarded by iron grill and gates. The Mugamandapam porch is in the fore of the vedi-block. On the top the porch three galleries of semicircular top contains Shri Adhinathar, Shri Mahaveerar and Shri Parswanathar.





The Navagraha stone statues are established on a Dias and are facing to same direction is unique feature of the temple. All daily, Quarterly and annual poojas, rituals and festivals of Jain religion are conducted and celebrated at the appropriate times. Contact:  +91 9788265395.

The Temple is located in Sevoor, an extension area of new Arani town. The Temple is located at about 81 Kms from Thindivanam, 75 Kms from Kanchipuram, 34 Kms from Vellore, 62 Kms from Thiruvannamalai and 47 Kms from Vandavasi. Nearest Railway Station is located at Arani and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
