Dam is located on the eastern side of the Western Ghats near Panpoli in Thirunelveli
District of Tamilnadu. This dam is around 670 m long and irrigates about 91,400
hectares land in the districts of Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar and Tuticorin. It is
an ideal holiday spot with many families preferring to picnic in the lush green
surroundings of the dam. This is typically situated in the borderline of Tamilnadu
and Kerala.
