Chidambara Swamigal Madam is a Hindu religious Mutt located in Thiruporur Town in Thiruporur Taluk in Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu. The Madam houses the Jeeva Samadhis of Chidambaram Swamigal and his 12 disciples. This Madam is situated very close to Thiruporur Murugan Temple.

The Madam

 The Madam houses the Jeeva Samadhis of Chidambaram Swamigal and his 12 disciples. His Jeeva Samadhi shrine consists of Sanctum, Ardha Mandapam and Maha Mandapam. The Sanctum houses the Jeeva Samadhi of Chidambara Swamigal. A marble Linga housed in Avudaiyar is installed over his Jeeva Samadhi. Nandi and Balipeedam can be seen facing the Lingam. Jeeva Samadhis of his disciples can be seen near Maha Mandapam. A room named Odukka Arai can be seen in the prakaram.

He used to perform meditation in this room. This room houses a Pancha Loka Idol of Chidambara Swamigal. This Idol will be taken out from the room and poojas to this idol is performed during Guru Pooja in Vaikasi Visakam. It is believed Chidambara Swamigal still performs meditation in Aroopam form here. Hence, no poojas are conducted in this room. Only a perpetual lamp is lighted. Tiger skin and Chappal used by Swamigal can be seen in this room.

Madam Opening Time

The Madam remains open from 8:00 am to 10:00 am and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Festivals

Guru Pooja during Vaikasi Visakam, monthly Visakam, Pournami and Pradoshams are the festivals celebrated here.

Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt is a Hindu monastic religious institution located in Kumbakonam Town in Kumbakonam Taluk in Thanjavur District in Tamil Nadu. The Mutt follows Nayak style architecture. This Mutt is a branch of Kanchipuram Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt. Kumbakonam Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt is also referred to as Kumbakonam Madam. The Madam is situated on the southern banks of Cauvery River. The mutt is situated on the Madam street near the old bridge on the Cauvery River.

History

The Kanchi Mutt was shifted to Kumbakonam from Kanchipuram during the Carnatic wars. Kanchipuram was under repeated invasions during this turbulent period. The Kanchi Mutt was shifted first to Thanjavur for safety reasons and later to Kumbakonam. The 68^th Acharya of Kanchi Mutt spent a considerable amount of time in learning the Vedas and initiated his first Digvijaya from here. 

Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi V: 

Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi V was the 62^nd Peedathipathi of Kanchi Mutt. He was the Peedathipathi of Kanchi Mutt during Carnatic wars. For safety reasons, he decided to migrate south. Acharya shifted to Thanjavur on the insistence of Pratapa Simha, Rajah of Tanjore (1740-63). Later, he found Kumbakonam was more suitable for Kanchi Mutt. Finally, the Mutt was shifted to Kumbakonam. He attained Mukti at Kumbakonam on Shukla Prathama in the month of Pushya of the cyclic year Subhakrt (1783 AD)

Sri Mahadevendra Saraswathi V: 

Sri Mahadevendra Saraswathi V was the 63^rd Peedathipathi of Kanchi Mutt. His original name was Anna Srauti and was a native of Kumbakonam. He attained Mukti at Kumbakonam on Sukla Dwadasi in the month of Ashada of the cyclic year Srimukha (1813 AD). 

Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi VI:

Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi VI was the 64^th Peedathipathi of Kanchi Mutt. He original name was Venkatasubramanya Dikshitar. He belonged to the family of Govinda Dikshithar, minister of Thanjavur Nayaks. He renovated Kamakshi Temple at Kanchipuram and performed consecration ceremony on 22^nd January 1840 AD. He presented the ear ornaments to Akhilandeshwari in Thiruvanaikaval in 1848 AD. He attained Mukti at Kumbakonam on Sukla Prathama in the month of Karthika of the cyclic year Sadarana (1851 AD). 

The Mutt

The Mutt follows Nayak style architecture. The Kumbakonam mutt houses a Veda Patashala and Adhistanams of 62^nd, 63^rd and 64^th Acharyas of Kanchi Mutt.

Sri Sridhara Ayyaval Mutt is a Hindu mutt, located in Thiruvisainallur Village near Kumbakonam Town in Thiruvidaimarudur Taluk in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. The mutt was established by a Saivite saint Sridhara Venkatesa Ayyaval who lived and preached here in the late 17^th century CE.

The Mutt

This is a small Mutt established by Sridhara Ayyaval. There is a photo of four saints Sri Sridhara Ayyaval, Sri Bodhendra, Sri Marudhanallur Swamigal and Sri Brahmendral on top of the Viswanatha mandapam. There is dining hall called Annapurna hall in the Mutt. The mutt also organizes philanthropic activities and holds pujas during major Hindu festivals.

Festivals

Prabodhanam, Parayanam, Nitya Pooja, Naama Sankirthana, Dolothsavam, Ekadashi Divya Namam Bhajan, Mahanyasa Rudrabhishekam on Amavasyas are conducted here. Every year on the New moon day of Karthigai month around 10,000 people throng the madam and take a dip at the well.

Thiruppanandal Adheenam is a Hindu Saivite monastic institution based in the town of Thiruppanandal in Thiruvidaimaruthur Taluk in Thanjavur District in Tamil Nadu. It is also known as Kasi Mutt. The Mutt is situated on the southern banks of Kollidam River. 

The Mutt

The Thiruppanandal Adheenam was one of the biggest landowning agencies in Thanjavur District. The Adheenam is involved in publishing Saivite literature, specifically Thevaram and Thiruvasagam and its translations. It is also involved in literary scholarship. The Adheenam along with Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam and Dharmapuram Adheenam were founded during the 16^th century CE to spread the ideology of Saiva Siddhanta.

Kanchipuram Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam is a branch mutt of Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam, located in Pillayar Palayam, a well-known locality in Kanchipuram City in Kanchipuram District of Tamil Nadu. This Mutt houses shrines of Sivagnana Munivar, Meikandar, Kachiappa Munivar and Ekambaranathar. The Mutt is situated close to Rudrakodeeswarar temple and Chidambareswarar temple.

The Mutt

This Mutt is a branch mutt of Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam. Shrines of Sivagnana Munivar, Meikandar and Kachiappa Munivar can be found immediately after the entrance arch. The Shrines of Sivagnana Munivar and Kachiappa Munivar are considered as their respective Jeeva Samadhis. There is a shrine for Ekambaranathar inside the mutt. This Shrine is facing towards east. Balipeedam and Nandi can be seen facing the shrine. Presiding deity is called as Ekambaranathar. He is housed in the shrine in the form of Lingam. This Shiva Linga is considered to be from Pallava era. There is no vimana over the shrine.

Sundareswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Seppakkam Village in Virudhachalam Taluk in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Sundareswarar and Mother is called as Meenakshi. The Temple is also known as Seppakkam Gyana Koothar Mutt. Seppakkam was called as Sivanpakkam in ancient times.

History

It is said that Thuraiyur Adheenam Gynana Kootha Sivaprakasa Desikar attained Mukthi here in 16^th Century CE. The successive Aadheenams of Thuraiyur Mutt installed a Shiva Linga at his Mukthi place and built this Temple. This Temple was in dilapidated condition in the early 20^th Century. Chidambara Sivaprakasa Desikar of Thuraiyur Adheenam tried to renovate this temple in 1942 but he failed. Later, his successor Subramanya Sivaprakasa Desikar renovated the temple.

The Temple

The Temple is facing towards east with an entrance arch. The entrance arch has stucco image of Rishabaroodar at its top. Presiding Deity is called as Sundareswarar and is facing east. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Nandi can be seen facing the sanctum. Mother is called as Meenakshi. She is housed in a separate shrine. There is a south facing shrine for Lord Nataraja and his consort Shivagami in the temple premises. There are shrines for Vinayagar, Chandikeswarar and Ganapathy in the temple premises.

Aadhi Sivaprakasa Swamigal Madam is a Hindu religious Mutt located in Muzhaiyur Village near Patteeswaram in Kumbakonam Taluk in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu.  This Mutt houses Jeeva Samadhi of Aadhi Sivaprakasa Swamigal and his disciples. Aadhi Sivaprakasa Swamigal is considered as the founder of Veera Shaivism. The Madam is situated close to Dharmapureeswarar Temple.
