Lamb's Rock, Coonoor, Nilgiris
Lamb's Rock is a View Point, located in Dolphin Nose View Point road near Coonoor Town in picturesque Nilgiris Hills near
Ooty Hill Station in Coonoor Taluk of Nilgiris District of Tamilnadu. It is a major tourist spot
in Coonoor.
It was named after the then collector Captain Lamb who developed this place in
his interest. The Lamb's Rock is on the way to Dolphin's nose, another
viewpoint in Coonoor.
The mountain cliff around Lamb's
Rock stands at a height of 5000 feet above sea level and stand out for its
jagged look. Lamb's Rock provides a panoramic view of Coonoor and one can enjoy
the sight of green lush forests covered by clouds. It has a view of
the Coimbatore plains, tea
estates and coffee estates. This view point also offers a panoramic view of the
Huligal ravines and Coonoor stream.

Railway Station, 25 Kms from Ooty Bus Stand, 27 Kms from Ooty, 26 Kms from Ooty
Railway Station, 25 Kms from Kotagiri, 40 Kms from Mettupalayam Railway Station
and 77 Kms from Coimbatore Airport. It is also situated near to the Lady Canning's Seat,
from there you can reach easily to this spot. This view point is located on the
Dolphin Nose view point road. Private Taxis are
available from Ooty and Coonoor to reach this place.
