Ayyappan Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Ayyapan, son of Lord Shiva located at Trichy Cantonment in Trichy City is Trichy District of Tamilnadu. The Ayyappan Temple is located at Cantonment, Tiruchirappalli. Ayyappan statue is 50 feet tall and magnificence appearance located towards the east. The two main objectives of the temple are cleanliness and silent. The temple has big meditation hall of about 100 devotees can seated at the time for meditation. The special feature of the temple is treating all peoples equally without any discrimination.


Foreigners are also permitted to worship. It has clean green environment that helps people to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. This Ayyappan temple is very cleanly maintained with full of green plants and good pathway all around. Also, there are many stone slabs erected with inscribed quotes on mother by great persons. Another special thing is that there are many small stones collected from holy rivers and holy places all over the world placed on many small platforms along with the respective names of the rivers and places.


Every day pooja is being conducted to these stones as well. It is said that having Dharshan of this collection of holy stones in one place will remove hurdles in one’s life and make them prosper. Apart from the main deity Ayyappan, the other deities in the premises are Kannimoola Ganapathy, Sakthi Vinayagar, Bhagavathi Amman and Navagraha. There is a letter box to God and the letters to the divine will be presented before Ayyappan on Uthra star day of every month with prayers. The temple is noted for various periodical puja for various shrines.


The Aayilyam puja for Nagaraja is one among them. Falling in the Aayilyam star in the Tamil almanac every month, women devotees bring turmeric to Lord Nagaraja. The Trichy Ayyappa Sangam has set up a couple of stone grinders for facilitating the devotees to grind the turmeric. They can grind the turmeric on the spot and offer it to the Lord. The temple offers various services to the weaker section. It organizes yoga classes and blood donation camps. A weekly blood donation camp will be organised for six weeks on Sundays.
