Pattinathar Temple is a Hindu Burial Shrine dedicated to Saint Pattinathar located at Thiruvotriyur, well known locality in Chennai City in Tamil Nadu. Saint Pattinathar is gracing the devotees here in the form of Lingam. This Temple is situated on Ennore High Road in Thiruvotriyur. Saint Pattinathar attained salvation in this place.

The Temple remains open from 6.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon and 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Festivals
Pradosha pujas (puja on the 13th day of new moon or full moon days between 4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.) Shivarathri puja in February –March and Aipasi Annabishekam in October-November are devotionally followed in the temple. Guru Puja is devotionally celebrated on the Uthiradam star day following the full moon day in the month of Aadi – July-August. Saint Pattinathar belongs to Uthiradam Star, hence pujas are offered to him on the star days each month.
Prayers
Devotees raise a tent (pandal) with flowers and offer sweet pudding (Sarkarai Pongal) as Nivedhana. It is believed that prayers here help conquering passions and children born will be wise. Devotees perform special pujas to the saint. Pattinathar was an ascetic. People praying to him do not promise anything as prayer commitment but only place their grievances at his feet. They offer later what they wish or have. It is said that promising prayer commitment would have adverse results as Pattinathar was a Sanyasi. It is also said that Kubera the Lord of Wealth was born as Pattinathar and hence the belief that praying here would bring in prosperity.

The Temple is located at about 200 meters from Thiruvotriyur Market Bus Stop, 1 Km from Thyagarajar & Vadivudai Ambal Temple, 1.5 Kms from Thiruvotriyur Railway Station, 1.5 Kms from Thiruvotriyur Bus Depot, 3 Kms from Wimco Nagar Railway Station, 12 Kms from Chennai Central Railway Station, 14 Kms from Egmore Railway Station, 22 Kms from Koyambedu Mofussil Bus Terminus and 32 Kms from Chennai Airport.
There are buses operated from here to all over Chennai and also a few limited services which run to various parts of the Tamil Nadu state. There is a bus available to Parrys corner for every 10 minutes through different routes.  Thiruvotriyur is located at the Chennai Central – Gummidipoondi suburban line of Chennai. The number of train services on this route are quite frequent. Thiruvotriyur has two rail stations, one at Thiruvotriyur and the other at Wimco Nagar. Nearest Airport is Chennai International Airport located at Meenambakkam.
