Hazrat Syed Hasan Shah Qadiri Dargah
is a Muslim religious place located in Gori Shola in picturesque
Nilgiris Hills in Ooty Town in Ooty Taluk of Nilgiris District of Tamilnadu. It is the final resting place of
a saint called Hazrat Syed Hasan Shah Qadiri. Hazrat Syed Hasan Shah Qadiri,
an Arab, who came here from Arabia for the propagation of Islam.
The Dargah, which is several
decades old, has gained popularity over the years and is now a popular
pilgrimage centre among Muslims in and around the Nilgiris
district. A cave with a closed gate can be seen on the back
side of the dargah. It is believed that the cave extends to Dada Kallamdrash
Dargah in Mysore. The cave is now closed for security reasons. A popular
festival called the Urs Hazrat Peer Syed Hassan Shah Qadiri is celebrated in
the Dargah annually.

is located at about 7 Kms from Ooty Bus Stand, 7 Kms
from Ooty, 6 Kms from Ooty Railway Station, 20 Kms from Coonoor, 27 Kms from Kotagiri,
51 Kms from Mettupalayam Railway Station and 95 Kms from Coimbatore Airport.
Private Taxis are available from Ooty and Coonoor to reach this place. It is located off the road from
Ooty to Doddabetta amidst the Doddabetta forests.
