Kamadenu Eswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Kalavakkam village near Thiruporur Town in Thiruporur Taluk in Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Kamadenu Eswarar and Mother is called as Kokilambal.
History
The Linga was found near the compound wall of SSN
College. A temple was built later as per the advice of Kanchi Shankaracharya to
house this Shiva Linga.
The Temple
This Temple is facing towards east. The sanctum
sanctorum consists of sanctum, ardha mandapam and mukha mandapam. Presiding
Deity is called as Kamadenu Eswarar and is facing east. He is housed in the
sanctum in the form of Lingam. Vinayaga, Dakshinamoorthy, Vishnu, Brahma and
Durga are the koshta idols located around the sanctum walls. Mother is called
as Kokilambal. There is no idol for Kokilambal in the temple. A temple tank can
be seen near the temple. A Vinayagar shrine can be seen near the temple.
