Kuttalam Ukthavedeeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple located at Nagapattinam district of TamilnaduIndia. The historical name of Kuttalam is Tiruthuruthi. The presiding deity is Shiva. He is called as Ukthavedeeswarar. His consort is Arumbanna Vanamulai Nayaki. The place is also known as Choleeswaram / Tiruthuruthi in scriptures. It is one of the shrines of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams - Shiva Sthalams glorified in the early medieval Tevaram poems by Tamil Saivite Nayanar Thirugnana Sambandar. This is the 154th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 37th Sthalam on the south side of river Cauvery in Chozhanadu. Moovar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple.

The temple is open from 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Festivals
Festivals – Maha Shivarathri, Thiru Karthikai, Markazhi Utsavam, Navarathri, Panguni Uthiram, Masi Makam, Arudra Dharisanam and Aippasi Annabhishekam are the festivals celebrated in this temple with much fanfare. In the Tamil month of Karthigai every Sunday, Deities called "Urchava Murthy" from the temple will be taken around the streets of the temple till the river Cauvery front and Pooja are performed. On the last Sunday of the month the celebrations happen in very grand manner as "Kada Muzhukku" and people from in and surrounding villages gather to celebrate the occasion. Lot of street shops and small merry rounds are put up to attract people ranging from kids, ladies to older people.
Singers
The temple is praised in the Thevaram hymns of Tirugnanasambandar. This is the 37th Shiva temple on the southern bank of Cauvery praised in Thevaram hymns.
Prayers
Those facing obstacles in wedding proposals pray in the temple. Realizing their wishes, devotees perform abishek to Lord and Mother and offer vastras.

Connectivity
The temple is 10 km far from Mayiladuthurai. Buses from Mayiladuthurai to Thirumananjeri pass through Kuthalam. The temple is about 1 Km from Kuthalam bus stop. Tiruvelvikudi, Tiruedhirkolpadi and Thirumananjeri are other Paadal Petra Shivasthalams in the vicinity of Kuthalam. By engaging an auto at Kuthalam, one can visit all the 4 temples viz., Tiruthuruthi, Tiruvelvikudi, Tiruedhirkolpadi and Thirumananjeri easily within half a day. Nearest Railway Station is located at Mayiladuthurai and Nearest Airport is located at Trichy.
