Thazuvikandeswarar Temple, Thiruvalangadu, Thiruvallur
Thazuvikandeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to
Lord Shiva located at Thiruvalangadu in Thiruvallur District of Tamilnadu. The
place where Karaikkal Ammaiyar embraced the Shiva lingam and that’s why the Lord
is called Thazuvikandeswarar. Saiva Saint Thirugnana Sambandar sang hymns
on Thiruvalangadu Lord Shiva from this temple itself, as he was not for walking
upto that shrine worshipped by Karaikkal Ammaiyar, who went by her head. She
didn’t walk as that will make her stumble on small lingams.
