Aavundeeswarar Temple, Nemam, Thiruvallur
Aavundeeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to
Lord Shiva located at Nemam Village near Thirumazhisai located at Thiruvallur
District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Aavundeeswarar and Mother
is called as Amirthambikai. This is an ancient temple
renovated recently and is located amidst paddy fields in a calm atmosphere.

History
The Temple was
built by Jayamkonda Chola (Rajadhiraja Chola I) in the 11th Century. The Temple was completely dilapidated and closed for 80 years. The Temple has been reconstructed over the period of 11 years (1999 - 2010). The temple was opened for worship with the blessings of the Kanchi
Kamakoti Peetam in 1999.
