Dharmapureeswarar Temple is a
Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Vadakandam Village in Kudavasal
Taluk near Thiruvarur Town in Thiruvarur District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding
Deity is called as Dharmapureeswarar and Mother is called as Swarnambal. The
Temple is considered as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns had a mention
about this Temple. The place was called as Thalichathangudi during ancient
times. The Temple is located very close to Thirukaraveeram Karaveeranathar
Temple.

The Temple is not having
Rajagopuram but having an entrance at the eastern side and southern side. The
Temple is surrounded by compound walls. The Temple has single prakaram. Presiding
Deity is called as Dharmapureeswarar and is facing east. He is housed in the
sanctum in the form of Lingam. Bali Peedam and Nandi Mandapam can be found
facing the sanctum. Mother is called as Swarnambal. She is housed in a separate
south facing shrine. There are shrines for Vinayaga and Lord Murugan with
consorts Valli & Deivanai in the Temple premises.
