Pasupatheeswarar Temple is a
Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Thinnakonam in Musiri Taluk in Trichy
District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Pasupatheeswarar
/ Sadanandar and Mother is called as Govindavalli / Shivagama Sundari. The Temple is considered as
Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns had a mention about this Temple. Thinnakonam was called as Narkundram in
ancient times.

History
The Temple was built by Parantaka Chola. The place was
called as Thiruvirarkundram and Thirunarkundram and Lord was called as
Thirumaadathu Koonanar and Sadanandar as per the inscriptions dated to
Parantaka Chola period. As per one of the inscriptions in the Temple, the
village was also called as Thinnakonam and as per another inscription, was
called as Thinnakunam.

Kms from Evur, 6 Kms from Amoor, 8 Kms from Thiruthiyamalai, 10 Kms from Thiruthalaiyur,
13 Kms from Musiri, 15 Kms from Kannanur, 19 Kms from Kulithalai Railway Station,
38 Kms from Trichy and 46 Kms from Trichy Airport. The Temple is situated on
Trichy to Musiri Route via Gunaseelam. Take a north turn at Evur and travel for
about 6 Kms to reach this Temple.
