Agastheeswarar Temple,
Ayappakkam, Chengalpattu
Agastheeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Ayappakkam Village in Thirukazhukundram Taluk in Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Agastheeswarar and Mother is called as Akhilandeshwari. This temple is situated on the northern banks of Palar River.
The Temple
The Temple is facing towards east and built over a low raised platform. Nandi and Balipeedam can be found facing towards sanctum. The Temple consists of sanctum and mukha mandapa. The mukha mandapa is in the form of shed. Sub shrines of Vinayaga and Murugan can be found at the entrance of the sanctum. The sanctum enshrines the presiding deity, Agastheeswarar in Linga form. Mother is called as Akhilandeshwari. She is housed in a separate south facing shrine.

Temple is located at about 2.5 Kms from Vayalur Check Post. This Check Post is
situated on Chennai to Puducherry ECR route. Most of the buses running between
Chennai to Puducherry in ECR route will stop at Vayalur Check Post.
