Thiruvaleeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Siruvanjur Village in Sriperumbudur Taluk in Kanchipuram District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Thiruvaleeswarar and Mother is called as Thirupurasundari.
The Temple
This Temple is facing towards east with a dilapidated
flat Rajagopuram. This temple is in complete ruins. Nandi and Balipeedam can be
found immediately after the entrance. Nandi is facing Lord Shiva through a hole
in the wall. The Sanctum Sanctorum consists of Sanctum, Ardha Mandapam and Maha
Mandapam. The Sanctum and Ardha Mandapam are in ruins while only walls of Maha
Mandapam remains.
Lakshmi Narayana and Lord Murugan can be seen at the
entrance of the Sanctum. Presiding Deity is called as Thiruvaleeswarar and is
facing east. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. There are no
Koshta idols in the outer walls of the sanctum. Chandikeswarar Shrine can be
seen in his usual location.
Mother is called as Thirupurasundari. She is housed in a
separate south facing shrine. Her shrine is situated on the left side of the
sanctum in Maha Mandapam. Her shrine consists of Ardha Mandapam and Sanctum.
Idols of Vinayagas and Murugan can be seen in the temple premises. There is a
huge pond in front of the temple. There is also an ancient well present within the
temple complex.

The Temple is located at about 5 Kms from Appur, 7 Kms
from Kattankulathur Bus Stop, 7 Kms from Kattankulathur Railway Station, 8 Kms
from Kattankulathur, 9 Kms from Maraimalai Nagar, 10 Kms from Padappai, 10 Kms
from Guduvanchery, 22 Kms from Chengalpattu, 24 Kms from Sriperumbudur, 30 Kms
from Chennai Airport, 44 Kms from Kanchipuram and 49 Kms from Chennai. The temple
is situated on Kattankulathur to Appur Nithya Kalyana Prasanna Venkatesa
Perumal Temple route via Nattarasanpattu.
