Bairagi Madam Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Sowcarpet in George Town area of Chennai, the capital of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal / Tiruvengamudaiyan and Mother is called as Alamelumangai. Bairagi Mutt is one of the Abhimana Kshetram located in Sowcarpet, Chennai, Tamilnadu. This is one of the prominent temple of Lord Venkateswara was built by a Bairagi/saint, a zealous devotee of Lord Venkateswara who had envisioned Lord Venkateswara of Tirupati.

The temple remains open from 7.00 a.m to 12.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

10 days Udayavar Utsavam in Chithirai, 10 days festival for Varadar in Vaikasi, Aadi Pooram, Brahmotsavam in Purattasi, Vaikunta Ekadasi, Thirukalyanam on Panguni Uthiram day, Sri Rama Navami and Theerthavari Utsavam in Karthikai are the festivals celebrated here.
Prayers
Couples pray for issues here. When the prayers materialize and when the couples are blessed with off springs, they perform Thirumanjanam for the Lord and tie cradle as offering.

The temple is situated in the General Muthiah 6th street. By going to the Yanaikavuni Bus stop and by walking for about 5 minutes we can reach the temple. The Temple is located at about 300 meters from Elephant Gate Bus Stop, 1.5 Kms from Parrys Corner Bus Stop, 2 Kms from Chennai Beach Railway Station, 2 Kms from Basin Bridge Junction, 1.5 Kms from Mannady Metro Station, 2 Kms from Chennai Central Railway Station, 5 Kms from Egmore Railway Station, 12 Kms from Koyambedu Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus and 20 Kms from Chennai Airport. The Temple is located very close to the Mannady Metro Station and Chennai Central Railway Station. You can proceed on foot to this Temple from the station. From other parts of the city, you can take a Cabs, Auto Rickshaw, Bus, Local Trains and Metro Trains to reach the Temple.
