Krishnaswamy
Temple (Krishnan Koil) is a prominent Vaishnavite temple situated at Eastern
Ambasamudram in Thirunelveli District on the SH 40 which connects Thirunelveli
and Ambasamudram. The exact age of this temple is not known and it had been
constructed over 500 years ago. This temple is administered by The Hindu
Religious & Charitable Endowments Department. Pavalamalli and Pathiri is
the Thala Virutcham (holy tree) of this temple. Theertham (holy water) of this
temple is known as Harihara Theertham.
Sri
Krishnaswamy Temple in Ambasamudram is located at 8.703179, 77.459773 or
8°42'11.4"N 77°27'35.2"E. It is Prarthana Sthalam for bringing
together Separated Couples. This place is called as Punnai Vana Kshetram.
Presiding Deity is Krishna made of Salagrama Stone in a standing posture
playing the flute along with Rukmini and Satyabhama. The Utsava deity is also
in a similar posture playing the flute.

Prayers
People
pray for unity in family and for excellence of children in education. Also
those facing long delays in marriage pray to Perumal. Devotees perform
Tirumanjanam to Perumal and offer sweet pudding – Sarkarai Pongal as Nivedhana.
Lord removes all the adverse aspects of the devotees caused by planetary
effects. People offer Tirumanjanam to Lord on such days of the planets unfavorable
to them offering vastras. Those facing Saturn effects pray with rice on
Saturdays. Students pray with green pulses on Wednesdays to excel in
education.
Prarthana Sthalam:
This is
a Prarthana Sthalam for bringing together separated couples. It is believed
that performing a Tirumanjanam for Lord Krishna at this temple and offering
sincere prayers here will bring together separated couples. As part of the
success of their prayers, within 6 months of child birth, devotees may perform
Milk Abisheka for Lord Krishna.

from the Ambai bus stand. Buses are available every 15 minutes from
Thirunelveli. Train services twice a day from Thirunelveli and Tenkasi to
Ambasamudram. Ambasamudram is 37 Kms from Tenkasi, 12 Kms from Veeravanallur,
47 Kms from Thirunelveli, 206 Kms from Madurai and 143 Kms from
