Dhandayuthapani Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Murugan located in the village of Chettikulam in Perambalur District of Tamilnadu. The temple is believed to have been constructed by the Pandya king Kulasekhara. Sthala Vriksham is Vilwa Tree and Theertham is Pancha Nadhi. This ancient Muruga Kshetra built on the top of a hill has 240 steps in total commanding two flights of well-built broad stairs - one for ascending and another for descending. The temple has 240 steps to mount on and 243 steps to come down. Built in the Dravidian architectural style, it has vast courtyards and an imposing tower. Nityanaimithika worship is offered with great devotion.

Chettikulam is located at about 24 Kms from Perambalur, 8 Kms from Alathur, 16 Kms from Siruvachur, 50 Kms from Ariyalur and 50 Kms from Trichy. Between Trichy and Perambalur after about 45 kms from Trichy look for Alathur gate take the left road here. This will lead you to Chettikulam and the temple.
