Ammaiyappar Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located at Ambasamudram in Thirunelveli District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Ammaiyappar and Mother is called as Mattuvar Kuzhal Nayaki (Suguntha Kunthalambal). The east facing temple is located at the heart of the Ambasamudram town near Arch and bus stand. It is a small temple and does not have tower. It is a popular temple in this town.

The sanctum sanctorum has a big Shiva Linga idol named Ammaiyappar. The shrine is facing the east direction with Nandi facing it. The Goddess Mattuvar Kuzhal Nayaki is in an attractive stylish standing posture in a separate shrine facing the north direction. At the entrance of the main shrine, the idols of Ganesha and Subramanya with his two consorts are placed.
Arasaradi Vinayagar, Kanni Vinayagar and Sundara Vinayagar are present in the Temple. A small Navagraha shrine is also found in this temple. Pradosham, Pournami Vilakku pooja, Margazhi Maatha Pooja and Aippasi Annabishekam are the festivals celebrated in this temple with much fanfare.

The temple is near the Ambasamudram bus stop. Ambasamudram is 37 Kms from Tenkasi, 12 Kms from Veeravanallur, 47 Kms from Thirunelveli, 206 Kms from Madurai and 143 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram. Nearest Railway Station is located at Ambasamudram. Nearest Airport is located Madurai and Thiruvananthapuram.
