Kandazheeswarar Temple, Kundrathur, Chennai
Kandazheeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Kundrathur, a suburb of Chennai in the Kanchipuram District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Kandazheeswarar and Mother is called as Nagaimukavalli. The Temple is located very close to Kundrathur Murugan Temple and Kundrathur Thiru Uraga Perumal Temple.

History
The temple was built during the Chola era and possibly by Kulothunga Chola II. Cheras, Pandyas and even Krishnadeva Raya had contributed to this temple. It is well known fact that this village was the native village of Sekkizhar, the eminent poet who authored the famous Periya Puranam. It is believed that he used to regularly visit this temple to get darshan of Kandazheeswarar.

Temple Opening Time
The temple remains open from 6.00 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Festivals
Besides monthly Pradosham days, the temple celebrates Shivarathri in February-March.
Prayers
Devotees have a staunch faith that Mother Nagai Mukha Valli would fulfill all their wishes if they surrender at her feet. Devotees perform abishek to Lord and Mother offering vastras.
