Ramalinga Sowdambigai Amman Temple, Padavedu
The
temple is located just adjacent to the Renugambal temple. This is the holy
place for Telugu speaking Devanga Chettiar community people. The Amman here is
the “Kula Theivam” for Telugu speaking Devanga Chettiar weaver community
people who used to weave clothes for God in olden days.
Even
now, it is in practice in many temples that the clothes woven by these
community people only will be adorned for the deities before the commencement
of any big festivals.
