CSI Hacker Memorial Church, Moolachel, Kanyakumari
CSI Hacker
Memorial Church is located in Moolachel in Kanyakumari District of Tamilnadu. Hacker
Memorial Church was named in the Memory of Isaac Henry Hacker in 1935 March 24th
with the permission of Mission Council. This church was raised to District
Church on 24th July 1960. During that time, Moolachel Hacker
Memorial church is one of the District church, among the 7 District churches
(Nagercoil, Neyoor, Marthandam, Moolachel, Thittuvilai, Kottaram, Irenipuram)
in Kanyakumari.
The
Church is located at the village center. There is a Crèche and a matriculation
School ran by the Church. From the report of the London missionary society of
Travancore written by John A Jacob, the origin of Church in Nagercoil may be on
1800 and Neyoor church in 1828. The report of 1833 year shows Moolachel church
and five other churches, are get operated under the Neyoor church. The New
Church was built and opened on 24th 1957 in the name of Hacker Memorial Church.

Church is located at about 100 meters from Moolachel Bus Stand. Moolachel is
located at about 37 Kms from Kanyakumari, 6 Kms from Padmanabhapuram, 3 Kms
from Thuckalay, 7 Kms from Eraniel, 14 Kms from Marthandam, 15 Kms from
Colachel and 60 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram. Nearest Railway Station is located
at Eraniel and Nearest Airport is located at Thiruvananthapuram.
