St. Antony's Church, Curusadi, Kanyakumari

St. Antony's Church, Curusadi, Kanyakumari
St. Antony's Church is located at Curusadi Village near Kollamkode in Kanyakumari District of Tamilnadu. St. Antony's Church is believed to be 400 years old. It was said that a Hindu Nadar found a stone with a cross embossed on it. He had dreams and received orders from a form of light to build a church. Worship began in a humble manner and the place came to be called Curusadi ("Curusu" is the Tamil word for cross). Later on, after 21 years of construction, a new church came into being in 1911.

The Church is located at about 500 meters from Kollamkode, 42 Kms from Nagercoil, 13 Kms from Vilavancode, 20 Kms from Marthandam, 40 Kms from Thiruvananthapuram and 65 Kms from Kanyakumari. Parassala Railway Station in Kerala is the nearest Railway Station, located at about 11 Kms from this Church. Nearest Airport is located at Thiruvananthapuram.
