Abhaya Varadeeswarar Temple, Adirampattinam – The Temple

Abhaya Varadeeswarar Temple, Adirampattinam – The Temple
This is an east facing Temple with three tiered Rajagopuram. The Temple is enclosed by granite walls on all sides. Dwajastambam, Balipeedam and Nandi can be found facing the sanctum. Presiding Deity is called as Abhaya Varadeeswarar and is facing east. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. The belief is that three eyes of Shiva grace devotees from the sanctum sanctorum. He provides protection to all those who approaches him.

Mother is called as Sundaranayaki. She is housed in a separate south facing shrine. Mother Sundaranayaki is also called as Kadal Partha Nayaki (the Mother looking at the sea), similar to Kanyakumari Bhagavathy Amman Temple. There are shrines for Adhi Sundara Nayagi, Dakshinamoorthy, Vinayakar, Murugan, Navagrahas, Chandikeswarar, Nataraja and Durga in the Temple premises. Sthala Vrikshams are Vilwa and Vanni Trees.
