Mahendrapalli Thirumeni Azhagar Temple is a Hindu temple located at Mahendrapalli in Nagapattinam district of TamilnaduIndia. The presiding deity is Shiva. He is called as Thirumeni Azhagar. His consort is known as Vadivambigai. This Paadal Petra Sthalam praised by Tirugnanasambandar is located at Mahendrapalli about 25 kms from Chidambaram. This Shivastalam is located in the vicinity of Aachaalpuram, near Kollidam on the railroad between Chidambaram and Mayiladuthurai.





A mile east of this shrine is the seashore, and a mile north is the Kollidam River. Mahendrapalli is the 60th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 6th sthalam on the north side of river Cauvery in Chozha Nadu. Thiruganasambhandar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple.

Temple Opening Time
The temple is open from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Festivals
Four worship services are offered each day. Maha Shivrathri in February-March, Margazhi Tiruvadhirai in December-January. Panguni Uthiram in February-March, Arudra Dharisanam is celebrated in the month of Markazhi and Tirukarthikai in November-December are the festivals celebrated in the temple.

Prayers
Those suffering from the evil results of past birth (poorva janma karmas), those facing adverse effects due to Sun, and Moon aspects in their horoscopes have a dip in the Brahmma Theertha in the temple for remedies. As the holy spring is attributed to Lord Brahmma the Creator, it is the faith of the people that Brahamma would amend the destiny of the devotee favorably. Devotees also pray for relief from snake aspects and to gain excellence in academic pursuit. Devotees pray with white clothes to the Lord and Yellow clothes to mother for developing a cosmetic look.

Connectivity
The Mahendrapalli Thirumeni Azhagar Temple is situated on Chidambaram - Mahendrapalli Road. On the Chidambaram - Sirkazhi Road, after crossing the Kollidam bridge we have to take left road that leads to Mahendrapalli and when we go further 11 Kms on this road we reach Mahendrapalli. Another Paadal Petra Sthalam Aachchaalpuram is located very close to this temple.  The Temple is 7 kms from Aachchaalpuram. Buses are available from Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Thanjore, and Kumbakonam.
The visitor should reach Kollidam 12 km from Sirkali. The place is 10 km from Kollidam. As bus facility from Sirkali to Kollidam is limited, it is advisable to hire a cab from Sirkali to save time. Nearest Railway Station is located at Nagapattinam and Nearest Airport is located at Trichy.
