Varadharaja Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu
located at Paruthiyur Village on the banks of Kudamurutti river, a tributary of
the Cauvery River in Thiruvarur District of Tamilnadu. This Temple is also
called as Paruthiyur Kothanda Ramar Temple. This is one of five popular Rama
temples in this region, the others being Thillai Vilagam, Vaduvur, Mudikondan
and Adambar. The Stunning Bronze idol of Lord Rama in this temple dates to the
10th Century AD.

Vaikunta
Ekadesi is a very popular festival for Varadharaja Perumal. Rama Navami is a
grand 10 day Utsavam in this temple. Purattasi Saturdays are celebrated for
Paruthiyur Anjaneya. Aadi Velli, Navarathri & Deepavali are auspicious for
Paruthiyur Mahalakshmi.
Prayers
The temple
is a symbol of family unity. People performed Prahaara Prathakshinam Pariharams
around the temple along with Bhagavan Nama japas and pujas for consecutive
Punarvasu star. It is believed that performing Pujas to Paruthiyur Ramar would
eliminate Graha doshas, family feuds will vanish and bring unity and ensure lot
of happiness and joy within the family.
