Mariamman Temple is located at Elayirampannai, a panchayat
town in Virudhunagar district in the state of Tamilnadu. Elayirampannai has a history of more than 350 years.
Once it was ruled by Zamindars who were Palayakarars before the British
rule. Even today the descendants of Jaminthars are living in
Elayirampannai. Chithirai festival is a famous festival of this temple. This
will be a 12-day function in the Tamil month of Chithirai.
