Dharmapureeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Muzhaiyur Village near Patteeswaram in Kumbakonam Taluk in Thanjavur District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Dharmapureeswarar and Mother is called as Vimala Nayagi. The Temple is considered to be one of the 70 Maadakovils, temples with elevated structure where elephants cannot reach the sanctum, built by Sangam era Chola Emperor Kochengata Chola.
The Temple is also called as Vallalar Temple and Pazhayarai Vadathali. This Temple is considered as one of the shrines of the 276 Paadal Petra Sthalams glorified in the early medieval Thevaram hymns. This Temple is the 141st Devara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 24th Sthalam on the south side of river Cauvery in Chozha Nadu.

7 Kms from Swamimalai, 7 Kms from Kumbakonam, 7 Kms from Kumbakonam Bus Stand,
8 Kms from Kumbakonam Railway Station, 35 Kms from Thanjavur and 92 Kms from
Trichy Airport. Patteeswaram is situated on the Kumbakonam to Aavoor route. Town
buses 8, 11, 25, 35, 61, 62 & 67 are available from Kumbakonam to reach
