Agora Veerabhadra Swamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Veerabhadra located in Hanumanthapuram Village in Thiruporur Taluk in Chengalpattu District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding deity is called as Agora Veerabhadra Swamy Temple and Mother is called Bhadrakali / Kaligambal. The temple is considered as parihara sthalam for mental illness.

History
The origin of this temple is not known. But the priests say that they have been serving this temple for 12 generations. There is an inscription dating to 1921 CE recording one Chinnappa Nayakkar of Ayanpuram (Ayanavaram), Chennai has donated his shop sites to the temple to be used for performing at least one time pooja every day.
The Temple
This temple is facing towards north with five tiered rajagopuram. The temple consists of sanctum, ardha mandapam and maha mandapam. Nandi can be found in the maha mandapa facing towards the sanctum. The sanctum enshrines an idol of Agora Veerabhadra Swamy in standing posture along with Daksha in the form of goat. He is about seven foot tall and is facing towards north. He has four hands holding bow & arrow in his upper hands and shield & sword in his lower hands.
He is a Swayambhu Moorthy (self-manifested). Betel leaf garland is considered auspicious for Agora Veerabhadra Swamy here. There is a separate east facing shrine for goddess Bhadra Kali / Kalikambal situated outside the sanctum. Idols of Vinayaga and Murugan can be seen in the temple premises. Shrines of Chandikeswarar and Durga can be seen in the temple premises. There is a huge tank situated in front of the temple.
Temple Opening Time
The temple remains open from 07.00 AM to 01.00 PM and
04.00 PM to 08.30 PM. On Amavasya and Pournami days, the temple remains open
from 06.00 AM to 09.00 PM.
Prayers
It is believed that mentally ill people get cured if
they visit this temple. It is said that Agora Veeerabadhrar blesses them to
recover from their mental illness. Devotees visit here and offers 108 or 1008
betel leaves to Veerabhadra after their marriage for happy marriage life and
child boon. Devotees worship Veerabhadra here for relief from stress, nerve
disorders, anxiety, and depression. Devotees also worship here for relief from
witchcraft & sorcery, relief from Chevvai doshas, job opportunities &
promotions and business development. Devotees worship Bhadra Kali here to get
relief from problems caused by the enemies. The temple tank is considered
auspicious, and several people takes a dip to get rid of their health problems.

The temple is located at about 1.5 Kms from Thiruvadisoolam,
11 Kms from Singapperumal Koil, 11 Kms from Chengalpattu, 12 Kms from Singapperumal
Koil Railway Station, 13 Kms from Chengalpattu Junction Railway Station, 16 Kms
from Thiruporur, 41 Kms from Chennai Airport and 62 Kms from Chennai. The village is located off the road going from
Chengalpattu towards Thiruporur after Perunthandalam and Senneri villages. The
road leading to this village is not easily motorable and is amidst the reserved
forest zone. It is advised not to visit this temple during the nights. Buses
and Autos are available from Singapperumal Koil.
