Srinivasa Perumal Temple is dedicated to Hindu
God Vishnu located Thenneri Agaram Village in Kanchipuram District of
Tamilnadu. The exact age of this temple is unknown, but believed to be more
than 1200 years old.
Presiding deity is Srinivasa Perumal along with his consorts Sri Devi and
Bhoodevi. Thayar of this Temple is known as Alamelu Thayar. Shrines of
Varadhar, Azhwars, Andal and Anjaneya are located in the Temple. Two Kaala
Poojas are conducted in this Temple.

The
temple has the following main structures; Sri Srinivasa Perumal Sannadhi,
(Tirupathi Sri Venkatesa perumal) Sri Alarmel Mangai Thayar Sannadhi, Sri
Devaraja Perumal Sannadhi, (Kanchipuram Sri Varadharaja Perumal), Sri Garudan
Sannadhi, Sri Veera Anjaneyar Sannadhi, Andal, Azhwars, Acharyas, a three
Storied Rajagopuram, two Madapalligal (One for Srinivasa Perumal and another
one for the annual use of Kanchipuram Sri Varadaraja Perumal) and Mandapangal.
These were all built approximately 80 years back.

The
Temple is open from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Festivals
The
temple in Agaram is very famous and one of the oldest temples for its
association with Kanchipuram Varadaraja Perumal, who comes once a year to
Agaram and has a procession on a floating barge on the lake near the Agaram
Temple. On that occasion he also stays at the temple for a day. This festival
is known as Sri Devaraja Perumal Theppam and several hundred people converge on
this holy occasion and stay at Agaram right through the day.
Prayers
Many
people perform Thirukalyanam for the Perumal here and were fortunate to have a
happy married life. It is believed that by performing Kalyanotsavam to the
Perumal will remove all the obstacles due to problems in horoscope, Rasi
Doshams etc.
