Palvannanathar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Tirukkazhippalai in Chidambaram Town in Cuddalore District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Palvannanathar and Mother is called as Vedha Nayagi. This temple was originally located 13 Kms southeast of Chidambaram on the north bank of river Kollidam. It is one of the shrines of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams - Shiva Sthalams glorified in the early medieval Thevaram poems by Tamil Saivite Nayanmars TirugnanasambandarAppar and Sundarar. This is the 58th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 4th Sthalam on the north side of River Cauvery in Chozha Nadu.
