By Road:
This Shivasthalam Temple is located 4 Kms from
Kanniputtur village otherwise known as Kannigaipair. To reach Kanniputtur
village, one has to travel by bus from Chennai to Periyapalayam via Kannigaipair
route and get down at Kannigaipair bus stop. A branch road from here goes to Thirukkandalam. Autos
or cabs can be hired from Kannigaipair bus stop to reach the temple.
Kannigaipair can be reached from Tiruvallur also via Periyapalayam.
Bus route No.58-D from Chennai Koyambedu Market to
Vengal goes via Kannigaipair and Thirukkandalam. The bus stops at Thirukkandalam
near the temple. The temple is located on the Chennai Nellore highway. After
the karanodai bridge and toll plaza look for the Periyapalayam turning on the
left. 6 kms after the turn take a left at Kannigaipair village bazaar road and
proceed for 6 kms the meandering road gets you to Thirukkandalam village
and the temple.
