Parthasarathy Temple, Triplicane – Ranganatha Shrine
The
Ranganatha Shrine in this temple is believed to be of earlier origin than Venkatakrishnar.
This Shrine is located on the passage leading to the main shrine. Vedavalli
Thayar seen in a separate sannidhi, is Ranganatha consort. There is a separate
shrine within the main shrine for Sri Ranganatha who is reclining (Bhujanga
Sayanam) on Adi Sesha and facing East with his consorts and Brahma in the
naval. In the Ranganatha sanctum, there is an image of Varaha near the head of
Ranganatha and Narasimha near the feet. These two images are facing each other
north and south directions respectively. Lord is also known as Sriman Natha as
addressed by Mother when he came to wed her.
