Poola Nandeeswarar Temple, Chinnamanur – The Temple

Poola Nandeeswarar Temple, Chinnamanur – The Temple
The Temple is facing east with seven tiered Rajagopuram. Dwajastambam and Nandhi can be found facing the sanctum and located immediately after the entrance. Presiding Deity is called as Poola Nandeeswarar / Rajasimheswarar / Paalkondanadhar / Alavodu Aalanavar / Thazhuva Kudaindavar. Lord is Swayambhu Moorthy with a cut scar. The great marvel of the temple is that the Lord looks as tall as the view or bhakti of the devotee. The symbol of an armour is seen on the body of the Lord showing that a king embraced him once.

Mother is called as Shivagami. She is housed in a separate shrine. Mother shrine is situated on the left side of the temple premises. Mother Sivakami is seen with a face ever sweating. Despite the number of times the decorations are changed, the sweat on her face has to be wiped off before continuing with the decorations.

There are shrines and idols of Chandrasekarar, Karpakavinayakar, Gangalar, Subramanya Swamy, Dakshinamoorthy, Durga, Kali, Bhairavar and Navagrahas in the temple premises. There is a Nagalinga Tree in the Temple premises. Nagalinga flower from this Tree will look like a Lingam covered by Adiseshan Hood. Sthala Vriksham is Poola Tree. Theertham associated with this Temple are Surabi River and Shiva Ganga Theertham. Shiva Ganga Theertham is situated in the Temple premises.
