Veetrirundha Perumal Temple, Thirumazhisai – The
Temple
This is
also one of the main temple in Thirumazhisai. It is very close to Jagannatha
temple. The temple is facing east with a 5 tier Rajagopuram. Palipeedam and
Dwajasthambam are immediately after the Rajagopuram. Presiding Deity is called
as Veetrirundha Perumal. He is housed in the sanctum along with his consorts Sridevi
and Bhoodevi. Here Lord Vishnu grants darshan with Ashtalakshmis – four
Lakshmis on the crown on all four sides, two Lakshmis i.e Sridevi And Bhudevi
on either side.
Also,
the chakra in the right hand and feet on lotus flower is similar to
Venkatesa Perumal in Tirupati. Vishvaksena, Veetrirundha Perumal, Varadharaja
Perumal, Kakkaathar, Vaishnavi are the niche idols around the sanctum. Mother
is called as Shenbagavalli. The temple has a special shrine for Thirumazhisai
Alwar who was born in Thirumazhisai.
Shrines
for Anjaneyar – facing north (it was believed that worshiping Anjaneyar will be
relieved from debts, fever related deceases, obstacles for the marriage, etc..), Chakkarathalwar,
Lakshmi Narasimhar, Andal, Vedanta Desikar, Thirumazhisai Piran, and Alwars can
be found in the prakaram. Adjoining the main shrine in the temple, there is a newly-built
shrine for Vinaya Anjaneya Swamy facing the north; he is called Varahamukha. A
Spacious mandapam has been built for the Convenience of the devotees.
This
Anjaneya is a varaprasadi who fulfills the wishes of devotees. Regular and
devoted worship has reduced the various kinds of sufferings of many persons.
People narrate positive results experienced as a result of praying at the
shrine. At the entrance to the main temple stands a tall idol of Anjaneya Swamy
carrying the Sanjeevi Parvatham. People who visit Jagannatha Perumal go to this
temple and get the blessings of lord Veetrirundha Perumal and lord Hanuman.
