Lakshmi Narayana Perumal Temple, Panappakkam, Vellore
Lakshmi
Narayana Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located at Panappakkam Village in
Vellore District of Tamilnadu. This is a beautiful large temple with a 5 tier Rajagopuram
at the entrance in the east. Presiding Deity is called as Lakshmi Narayana
Perumal and is facing east. Goddess Lakshmi is seated on the lap of Mahavishnu,
the main deity.
A more
recent addition seems to be the Ashtalakshmi idols situated in a lotus shaped
Mandapam. There are shrines for Garuda, Chakrathazhwar, Narasimhar, Rama,
Lakshmana and Seetha and Azhwars in the Temple premises. Sacred Tree (Sthala
Vriksham) is Vilwam (Aegle marmelos). There is 16 pillared mandapam with
sculptures in the Temple.

Temple is located at about 700 meters from Panappakkam Bus Terminus, 14 Kms
from Kaveripakkam, 30 Kms from Arcot, 29 Kms from Ranipet, 28 Kms from Walajah
Railway Station, 26 Kms from Arakkonam, 27 Kms from Arakkonam Railway Station,
54 Kms from Vellore, 90 Kms from Chennai and 79 Kms from Chennai Airport.
