Anju Veedu waterfalls are located in the Dindigul district of the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu. They have been given many names by the onlookers; some call them ‘5V’, ‘Palar Upper Falls’. ‘Elephant Valley falls’ or even ‘5 House falls’. Anju Veedu falls can be found in the Vilpatti range of mountains nestled in the Palar Valley. Amidst the Palani Hills, the Anju Veedu cascade drops down from the Elephant Corridor, hence, named the Elephant Valley falls.



The Palar stream originating at the Kodaikanal Lake is the source of the Anju Veedu Falls. Anju Veedu waterfalls lie at a distance of 6.5 kilometers from the Palar Reservoir.
Palar Upper Falls also called Anju Veedu Falls (Five House Falls), 85 metres (279 ft), on Palar stream 5.5 km southeast of Palar Reservoir and 1.7 km downstream north from Ganesha Puram village, per 1974 survey map. It is located at a distance of 27 kilometers (17 mi) from Kodaikanal), in the Vilpatti Range. It is a spectacular waterfall with dangerous currents. This stream originates in the Kodaikanal Lake.



The Anju Veedu Falls are located at a distance of 27 kilometers from the famous hill station of the south, Kodaikanal. The water currents of the cascade are quite high and can prove to be very dangerous at times. The water cascades down a V shaped rock which is why the waterfall is also known as the V shaped waterfall. Anju Veedu falls are placed quite close to the 5 Veedu Village, off the Perumal Peak.



Anju Veedu - if you translate this Tamil word in English, it would mean 'five houses'. It is said there were only five houses few years back in the forest in Elephant Valley. Hence, this place is called as Anju Veedu. Anju Veedu is a scenic place located in Elephant Valley which can be reached by a two kms walk through the forest and crossing the river Palar inside the forest. There you find this beautiful waterfall named as Anju Veedu Waterfalls or Upper Palar Waterfalls or Elephant Valley Waterfalls


The Palar stream which originates from the Kodaikanal Lake is the origin for Anju Veedu waterfalls. The Elephant valley is an eco farm which is also visited by the tourists. This site is situated near Ganeshapuram village at a distance of around 25 kms from the center of Kodaikanal town.
