Bheemeshwarar Temple, Mudichur – Prayers
Numbers
of devotees approach this temple, to pray for their children to get married
soon. It is said that, if one ties yellow turmeric thread to the steel
rods around the sanctum, their prayers will definitely be answered and their
children would soon get married. Many have obtained these blessings and after
marriage they come here to remove the thread and offer an Abishekam to the lord
as a token of gratitude. Since each thread has been given a unique number they
can be identified easily.
Prayer Procedure:
The
number of the yellow strings tied with wedding prayers for early marriage has
exceeded 7,000 On paying Rs. 11, they give a yellow Thaali and a turmeric piece
at the temple. After praying to Goddess Vidyambigai, the woman has to tie the
yellow string to the pillar facing the sannidhi. And, the mantra, Devi Devi Jaganmathaa,
Jagathanandhakaarani has to be chanted for 11 times for 11 days in the morning
after taking bath. And, the woman has to pray sincerely and intensely.
The
women who come here with prayer request for marriage boon firmly believe that
their prayer requests would be granted without fail. The prayer commitment is
completed when the couple performs an abishekam after the marriage is held. Devotees
who want to perform abishekam are requested to register in advance. Those who
tie the yellow string should remove it without fail after their marriage is
held. Those who want to offer garland to the deity have to bring it because
garlands are not available at Mudichur.
