Vaidyanatha Swamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Ivanallur Village in Mayiladuthurai Taluk in Mayiladuthurai District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Vaidyanatha Swamy and Mother is called as Thaiyal Nayagi. There are five Vaidyanatha Swamy Temples around Vaitheeswaran Koil called as Pancha Vaidyanatha Kshetrams. This Temple is one among them.
Legends
It is believed that Pancha
Pandavas visited this village during their Vanavasa. Hence, the village came to
be called as Aivar Nallur and got corrupted to Ivanallur.
The Temple
The Temple is facing towards
east. The Temple is completely destroyed except the few ruins of sanctum. The
ruins and the idols are kept under thatched roof. Presiding Deity is called as
Vaidyanatha Swamy and is facing east. He is housed in the sanctum in the form
of Lingam. Mother is called as Thaiyal Nayagi and is facing south. Idols of
Vinayaga and Nagas can be found under the thatched roof apart from the
presiding deity and Mother Thaiyal Nayagi. Some damaged idols are also seen on
the banks of the pond nearby. There is a huge Magizha Tree, situated on the banks
of the pond.

Kms from Korukkai, 5 Kms from Kondal, 9 Kms from Manalmedu, 9 Kms from Nidur
Railway Station, 12 Kms from Mayiladuthurai Junction Railway Station, 12 Kms
from Mayiladuthurai Old Bus Stand, 13 Kms from Mayiladuthurai New Bus Stand and
Kms from Trichy Airport and 127 Kms from Trichy Airport. Devotees need to
travel in Mayiladuthurai to Villiyanallur Route, take a left turn at Kondal,
travel for another 5 Kms to reach Ivanallur. Ivanallur is situated immediately
after Korukkai.
