Vaidyanatha Swamy Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Radhanallur Village in Mayiladuthurai Taluk in Mayiladuthurai District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Vaidyanatha Swamy and Mother is called as Thaiyal Nayagi. The temple is situated on the banks of Manniyaru River. There are five Vaidyanatha Swamy Temples around Vaitheeswaran Koil called as Pancha Vaidyanatha Kshetrams. This Temple is one among them.
The Temple
The Temple is facing towards
west with an entrance arch. The entrance arch has stucco image of Rishabaroodar
flanked by Nandis. The Sanctum Sanctorum consists of Sanctum, Artha Mandapam
and Maha Mandapam. Presiding Deity is called as Vaidyanatha Swamy and is facing
west. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam.
Mother is called as Thaiyal
Nayagi. Her shrine is situated to the left side of the sanctum in Maha
Mandapam. Vinayaga can be seen at the entrance of Artha Mandapam. There are
shrines for Muthukumaraswami along with his consorts Valli & Deivanai,
Bhairavar, Suryan, Saneeswarar and Maha Lakshmi in the temple premises.
