Vettai Venkataraya Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Melpattambakkam in Panruti Taluk in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Vettai Venkataraya Perumal and Mother is called as Alarmelmangai. The Temple is situated on the banks of Thenpennai River.
Legends
It is believed that the village was gifted to Bhattars.
Hence this village was called as Bhattar Pakkam during ancient times. Later the
name got corrupted Pattambakkam.
The Temple
This Temple is facing towards east. Dhwaja Sthambam,
Balipeedam and Garudazhwar can be found immediately after the entrance facing
the sanctum. Presiding Deity is called as Vettai Venkataraya Perumal. He is
gracing the devotees from the sanctum along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi. Mother
is called as Alarmelmangai. She is housed in a separate east facing shrine. There
are shrines for Vinayaga and Andal in the Temple premises.
Festivals
Vaikunda Ekadasi and Thai Pongal are celebrated here
with much fanfare.

Airport and 166 Kms from Chennai Airport. The Temple is situated on Cuddalore
to Panruti Route.
