Varadaraja Perumal Temple, Pennadam, Cuddalore
Varadaraja Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to
Lord Vishnu located at Pennadam Town in Thitagudi Taluk in Cuddalore District
of Tamil Nadu. The Temple is also called as Veetrirundha
Perumal Temple. There are three Vishnu Temples in Pennadam in straight line
representing Vishnu in Standing, Sitting and Sleeping Posture. This Temple
represents Lord Vishnu in sitting posture. The Temple is situated behind
Pennadam Sudarkozhundeesar Temple (Pralayakaleswarar Temple) on the west car
street. The Temple is well-maintained and situated close to Palli Konda Perumal Temple.
Legends
As per
legend, Deva Kannis, Kamadhenu and Iravadha stayed on earth on seeing
Pralayakaleswarar. Lord Vishnu came to this place in search of them. The Temple
is built in memory of this incident.
The Temple
This is a small east facing Temple with single prakaram.
Presiding Deity is called as Veetrirundha Perumal / Varadaraja Perumal. He is
facing east. There is a shrine for Lord Rama in the Maha Mandapam. Lord Rama is
gracing the devotees along with Mother Sita facing southern direction. Hanuman
can be found facing the Lord Rama Shrine. There is Ramar Paadham (Lotus Feet of
Lord Rama) between Hanuman shrine and Lord Rama Shrine.

The Temple remains open from 08.00 am to 10.00 am and
04.30 pm to 07.30 pm.
