Shalivadiswarar
Temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva located at Thachanallur in Thirunelveli District
of Tamilnadu. This Temple is considered to be one of the ancient temples of Thirunelveli Town. It is believed that sculptors involved in the construction of Tirunelveli Nellaiyappar Temple stayed in this Temple.
Legends
Once, Thavamani Siddhar was travelling towards Tirunelveli to worship Nellaippar. He decided to take rest in this Temple as the dawn was approaching. Nellaiappar granted darshan to Siddhar before his visit to Nellaippar Temple. This incident shows the importance that Lord Shiva attached to his devotee. Thavamani Siddhar made this Temple as his permanent abode. He had two disciples Veda Moorthy and Mandhira Moorthy for assisting him in his worship.

Presiding Deity is called as Shalivadiswarar. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Mother is called as Gandhimadhi. She is housed in a separate shrine. There are two Vinayakas in series in the sanctum. It is said to be the Jeeva Samadhi of Veda Moorthy. There is a Gendi (similar to Kamandalam) can be found in one corner of the sanctum. It is said to be the Jeeva Samadhi of Mandhira Moorthy. There are separate shrines for Veda Moorthy and Mandhira Moorthy in the Temple premises.
