Piravi Marundeeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated
to Lord Shiva located in Thiruthuraipoondi in Thiruvarur District of Tamilnadu.
Presiding Deity is called as Bava Aushadheeswarar / Piravi Maruntheeswarar.
Mother is called as Brahannayaki / Thirthavalli. The Temple is also called as Bava
Aushadheeswarar. The temple is not exactly a Saptha Vidangam but Thyagaraja
sannidhi and a Maragatha lingam are present here.

The temple is open from 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and from
4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
Festivals
Chithirai festival in April-May is grandly celebrated in
the temple followed by Navarathri during September-October, Shivarathri during
February-March Navarathri in September-October and Tiruvadhirai in
December-January are the festivals celebrated in the temple. The annual
festival is conducted here for 25 days in a grand manner.
Prayers
Removal of obstacles in marriage efforts, child boon and
educational excellence are he prayers submitted to the Lord. Devotees offer
abishek and vastras (clothing) to Lord and Mother. Ashwini starrers pray here
for relief from adverse planetary aspects. Others pray for happy wedding,
child boon and good education. Devotees offer vastras with abishek to Lord and
Mother.
