Agastheeswarar Temple is a
Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Vidangalur Village in Kilvelur
Taluk in Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as
Agastheeswarar and Mother is called as Sathiyathakshi. The Temple is considered
as Thevara Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns had a mention about this Temple.
Legends
It is believed that Sage Agasthya and Vidanga
Munivar worshipped Lord Shiva of this Temple.

Temple
Presiding Deity is called as Agastheeswarar. He is
housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Mother is called as Sathiyathakshi.
She is housed in a separate shrine. There are shrines for Valampuri Vinayagar,
Lord Murugan with his consorts Valli & Deivanai, Anjaneya and Mahalakshmi
in the Temple premises.
