Guru Baghwan worshipped Lord Shiva here:
Emam means Gold in Tamil.
Also, Brihaspati (Guru Baghwan), one of the Navagrahas, is also called as
Ponnavan. It is believed that Guru Baghwan worshipped Lord Shiva here. Due to
this, the village got its name Emanallur. Worshipping Lord here will relieve
the person from Guru Dosham.
Lakshmi’s penance to get place in Lord Vishnu place:
In order to get place in Lord
Vishnu Heart, Lakshmi decided to perform penance to achieve this. She went to
Markandeya Rishi to enquire about suitable place for her penance. On his
advice, she came here and created a Theertham and performed penance below Vilva
Tree on the banks of the Theertham. She prayed to Ksheera Pathi Sayana Narayana
Perumal and Sundareswarar. On seeing her penance, Lord Vishnu gave place to her
in his heart.

Sundareswarar gave life back to Manmadan on the request on Rathi here. Hence,
