Chidambareswarar Temple is a
Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Keezhai Village near Manalmedu
in Nagapattinam District of Tamil Nadu. Presiding Deity is called as Chidambareswarar
and Mother is called as Shivagama Sundari. The Temple is considered as Thevara
Vaippu Sthalam as Devaram hymns had a mention about this Temple. The place was
called as Keezhaiyam during ancient times. Four Kaala Poojas are conducted in
this Temple.
The Temple
Presiding Deity is called as Chidambareswarar.
He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Mother is called as Shivagama
Sundari. She is housed in a separate shrine. There are shrines for Moola
Vinayagar, Lord Murugan with his consorts Valli & Deivanai, Dakshinamurthy,
Chandikeswarar, Suryan and Bhairavar in the Temple premises.
